The silhouette line is a new addition to the CircAid line of products. These padded compression aids, not knit compression garments, are available as either sleeves or stockings.

So far no one has commented here on these new garments; however if you go to the CircAid web site you can learn more. http://www.circaid.com/Pages/Products/silhouette.html

Since CircAid markets their products through representatives, you might also contact the rep nearest you.

Frankly, there is no end in sight in terms of a lymphedema cure. Lymphedema is a chronic condition and this means that ongoing treatment is required. The garments described here do provide compression. Knit garments for daytime wear when you are active and padded garments mostly for night wear when you are not as active; however, they can also be worn when you are active.

Ongoing treatment is important so that the condition doesn't get worse. New garments are being developed and will hopefully be better. Studies have shown that lymphedema doesn't have to limit you activities -- in fact exercise is important. That is good news.

Continuing to learn about new developments, and to understand how lymphedema "functions" is a very wise move. The more you know, the better prepared you are to be an advocate for yourself.
