I am very interested to know if anyone has tried using the low level laser treatment with the LTU 904 device. I know it is FDA approved and I know it has had success in Australia and the UK. I am going to try this treatment later this summer. I'd love to hear from someone else and if so, where did they have it?

I'd also love to know about recent experiences in the US with the LTU-904. Does anyone know of a therapist who uses it in the New York/New Jersey area? Has anyone bought one of the lasers? If so, did someone train you to use it, or did it come with instructions? -- KS1

I have scheduled a week of laser therapy in the Naples/Ft. Myers area in August. I'm located in Indianapolis, so it's not convenient, but I hear really good things about it. I fell upon it by reading about a grant that is being funded by a breast cancer group. It is through the Vanderbilt University Nursing School in Nashville. They will be looking for applicants to participate in their study very soon, if not now. You would have to have lymphedema of the arm and due to breast cancer treatment. You would also have to be willing to go to Florida for the treatments, if anyone is interested.
There is also a site called BioHorizons and if you sign in you can get a list of everyone who has purchased the LTU 904 Laser so you can see if there's anyone in your area using it.
Hope this info helps someone.

Peace,
Melanie

After your treatments, please post a message sharing your experiences. Many of us will be interested to hear from you.

I am being seen at the Atlantic Rehab Institute in Morristown NJ. It's a fairly well established group with 4 lymphedema therapists. I asked 3 of 4 of them about the LTU 904, and none knew it was FDA approved. Sounds like the company needs to do a better job reaching the therapists in the trenches. -KS1

I don't know whether it is the case at your clinic, but I will say that at my Kaiser Permanente facility the Physical Therapy Department Administrator has refused to let me show her lymphedema therapists what bandages, sleeves and devices are being used in the treatment of lymphedema because Kaiser doesn't cover them and she doesn't want her therapists to be ordering things that may not be covered. I don't believe that the LYU 904 is covered by Medicare even though it has been cleared by the FDA.

Sorry I didn't get back with results of treatment, however the treatments never took place. The doctor had an emergency and my whole trip got canceled to Florida for the therapy. I have met a woman through that doctor who is using the Rian LTU-904 and says it is working wonders for her. I will invite her to join our forum and tell of her results. In the meantime, I thought you might be interested to read the following link and maybe print it out to show it to your MLD therapists.
