My MD recommended not wearing the pressure garment at night, mainly day. I am waking up with right elbow and shoulder pain and upper arm and chest swollen. I have the 30-40mmHg to wear during the day. Does anyone wear their garment or one of less mmHg during the night?

I was told never to wear a knit garment at night. This is because it has too much pressure for when you are not active. Also it can slide out of place and cut of circulation.
Instead of a knit sleeve I wear a padded JoVi type sleeve at night.
Mine is comfortable, keeps the shoulder stable, and it works for me.
It would be a good idea to ask your therapist about this?

Hi, Dawn,
Have you completed a Therapy Intensive with a well-trained lymphedema therapist, where you learn to wrap your arm with short-stretch bandages? That's the usual recommendation for use at night, and it's a great skill to have for any flare-ups, travel, or anytime you feel you need some extra protection.
I have night sleeves and vests (because I have lymphedema in my back and chest as well) made by JoviPak and Solaris. Both are comfortable and much easier to deal with than wrapping. I put my vest on early in the evening, as it's more comfortable than a compression bra or cami and it really does help control the swelling. Other companies that make them are Telesto-Medtech and Peninsula Medical. Hope you find a very workable solution!
