sunbathing?

There isn't any information here about sunbathing. Of course I use sunscreen, but is it OK or does it make my LE worse?

You are right BikerBabe! We need information about sunbathing.

Glad to hear that you use sunscreen to protect yourself against sunburn. A hat is a good idea too (but I'll bet your Mom already told you that).

Seriously, there are three concerns here: (1) preventing sunburn; (2) staying hydrated -- so take your water bottle along and keep drinking; and (3) staying cool. When you start to feel really hot, it is time to hit the shade and cool off! Getting too hot makes the swelling worse.

Oh yes, and don't forget to protect your feet. When your leg is affected it is best to skip the barefoot look and wear protective footwear.
