I developed severe swelling in both legs after my 2nd total knee replacement. Because the swelling is so severe its difficult to walk let alone exercize. I was doing aquarobics until I was bitten by a broown widow spider back in middle of august. Well the wound got really disgusting and finally after more than 7 months the crater filled in but with the swelling in my legs the skin is having trouble closing because of the constant drainage of fluid. Its slowing the development of new skin. Its leaks so much it goes into my flip flops and makes the one side slippery unless I'm wearing a dressing. I'm at fault because I've not been taking my lasix at all. When I. Was the wound strated drying up and my legs started deflating!!!! Yahoo!!! So I am now taking my lasix again and am hoping it'll have the same effect. My question to other folks with similar problems is : WHAT OR HOW DO I USE TO CONTROL OR DRY UP EXTERNALLY THE FLUID THAT'S. LEAKING FROM THE SKIN? IS THERE A POWDER, CREME OR MAYBE A SILVER NITRATE APPLICATION OF SOME KIND I CAN APPLY TO STEM THE FLOW OF FLUID IN CONJUNCTION WITH TAKING MY LASIX AS DIRECTED? Please help me I am desperate. I have only one skirt I can wear to cover my unrecognizable legs. My condition severely limits having a normal life and I know I am disgusting to look at especially for my common law husband. He's a good man and hasn't placed sexual demands on me in years. We've been together going on 18 years and haven't been intimate in probably 7 plus years. I still desire him but in my condition I don't blame him for not wanting me in that way. He's a good man because he's monogamous and has never been unfaithful. If I.
