lymph nodes in neck

for about a month now i can feel some lymph nodes on my neck. my wife has the same thing. i am so scared and nervous thinking the worst. is it normal to feel your lymph nodes in your heck. the dr desribed them as shotty lymph nodes. what does this mean. he told me there a little bit bigger than normal but not really enlarged.

i really hope i didnt catch anything sexually that would of brought this on for us. any doctors here that can help? thanks

is this a symptoms of early hiv, or ars. im very nervous scared and worried.

Hi John,

My first suggestion is that you read the Lymph Notes article titled "Swollen Lymph Nodes." To find it, go to the table of contents on the home page. Read this and you will probably want to follow the reference link to learn even more.

After you study this information, you'll realize that there are many causes of this type of swelling -- and most have to do with infections. Therefore a really smart move is to see a doctor who will pay attention to you so you can get a diagnosis and appropriate treatment.
