Question Acai Fruit Juice...

I just reccently ordered a case of it-since it said it helps with inflammation among other things. Has anyone with lymphedema tried it? If so, did it help decrease your swelling?

I had never heard of Acai

I had never heard of Acai and was curious. Therefore, in quest of knowledge, I visited several websites. This is what I learned:

The Acai (AH-sci-EE) Berry is reported to have health benefits that are “simply amazing.”

The Acai is effective as an antioxidant, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antimutagenic; however, it must be fresh to be effective.

Unfortunately none of the sites mentioned benefits for lymphedema or the lymphatic system.

Please share the results of your use of this juice.

Wink acai

Hi Parisenmars,

Ive' been using noni juice, mangosteen, acai and gogi all together with pomgrante, aloe, white and red grape juice. I mix all of them together in equal portions, drinking 1oz. in the morning 1/2 hour before breakfast and the same 1oz. 1/2 hour before dinner. I can feel the difference since Ive' been without it for about a 2 weeks, now. I did this little experiment of doing without as Ive' worked with these juices for over a year now. Im' also strictly kosher and organic lifestyle as I feel along with others that all the chemicals and drugs this country has been feeding Americans is only destroying and killing our bodies. There are times I still get regular food but I can feel the effects it has on me. I dont' force my lifestyle on anyone but I cant' take any medicine at all as Im' allergic to all even baby aspirins or non aspirin products. The one thing I can tell you is that all the doctors and specialists that I have seen have told me that there is no pharmacy medicine on the face of this EARTH that can help this disease that any of us have. Theraphy along with alternative medicine seems to have better effects.

Have A Blessed Day

DRAY

Thanks Lynn,

Thank you for sharing your experience with the antioxidants rich juices. I'm very happy for you in having such a good experience with it.

It would be wonderful if someone with follow-up on reports such as your story and do a "scientific study" of the effects of Acai.

Best wishes for continued improved health!

Barry

More on Acai

I read in the Wall Street Journal (Sept 25, 07) an article by Katy McLaughlin titled "Health Journal."

In this article she stated that apples, and apple juice (preferably the cloudy kind), contain many of the same antioxident benefits of exotic fruits like pomegranates, Noni fruit, and acai.

According to a study at Cornell University's Department of Food Science, which was quoted here phytochemicals are more beneficial because they work together.

wall street article

Barry,

I read that same article! The only differences that occur is that noni, mangosteen, gogi, acai is that they have healing properties. I totally realize that the apples have the antioxidents. I personally want more than that. Barry, I will send you the websites to learn more about these juices if you request this from me. Im' a herbotinist; This is also how I know so much about these 4 juices I have listed. It took me 17 years with a private tutor for this degree. This is also a Europian Degree. Education is much more advanced there than here. I was taught in my PaPas' home from the age of 8, graduating on my 26th birthday.

Have a blessed day,
