Glossary definition--

elephantiasis
A term used to describe the extensive swelling associated with stage 3 lymphedema. See Stages of Lymphedema. Another name for lymphatic filariasis, which is the form of lymphedema caused by thread-like parasitic worms. See Lymphatic Filariasis.
