toxoplasmosis

Glossary definition--

toxoplasmosis
An infection with a one-celled parasite whose primary host is the cat family. Infection in a pregnant woman can cause birth defects in her developing child. Infection in individuals with a compromised immune system can cause serious health problems. See Pets and Lymphedema.
