The mission of the Academy of Lymphatic Studies (ACOLS) is to promote high professional standards and the continuing professional competence of health care practitioners by promoting the quality and integrity of continuing education to practitioners in the field of lymphedema management.

ACOLS conducts 135 hour Certification Courses in MLD/CDT throughout the year in various settings in the United States.

ACOLS has recently introduced a new teaching format that maintains the quality of the education, and meets the 135 hour requirements, by combining a computerized home component (Accelerated Hybrid Online Program) with classroom hours.

This format saves students time away from home, provides greater flexibility for studying the "book portion" of the course, and reduces the over all cost of training.
